POLICE KILL HIM BY SHOT HIS COLLEGE WHILE RUNNING A DRIVING DRIVER DRIVER

 

A female police officer from Gilgil Weighbridge Police Station on Ngong-Suswa Road has accidentally shot a fellow officer chasing a truck driver who had refused to stop despite being ordered.

According to a police report recorded on Sunday, August, 22,2021 Emma Sopiato and her colleagues were in a Toyota Hilux Double Cabin chasing the truck driver who had refused to stop despite being ordered.

This led to a cat and mouse race between the two vehicles.

When they reached the Kimuka market, the truck driver stopped and then started backing away, intending to hit a police car.

"The female officer who was sitting behind the driver pulled out his AK 47 rifle, which struck Corporal Fanuel Abongo, on the right side of his ribs and left the left side of his ribs," the police report read.

Abongo was then rushed to Ngong Sub-County Hospital and later transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for special treatment.

Unfortunately Abongi was confirmed to have passed away when he arrived at KNH. Detectives say they are still investigating the incident.

According to a police report, the gun used in the case has been taken into custody and the suspect has been detained.
