A former CIA official who turned out to be an anti-terrorism activist has demanded the release of a terror suspect who arrested him almost 20 years ago.
John Kiriakou told the BBC that the torture and imprisonment of al-Qaeda suspect Abu Zubaydah had been "more than enough punishment".
The call for Mr Zubaydah's release from US custody came as the Supreme Court heard arguments on Wednesday about the US government's ability to maintain confidentiality.

Following his 2002 arrest in Pakistan, the Palestinian claimed that he had been tortured with water in his face in a method known as waterboarding, beaten, deprived of sleep, isolated and placed in "stressful places" during interrogation at CIA "secret bases" in Poland. before being transferred to detention in Guantanamo Bay, where he has been held without charge since 2006.
The secret centers are a network of sites used by the CIA to interrogate terror suspects in the years following the September 11, 2001 attacks.
