DIABETES
Diabetes is a condition that is caused by the malfunctioning of the body's sugar-regulating system. There are two types of diabetes, namely type 1 and type 2, but we will only discuss type 1 as it is the one that affects most people.
Symptoms of this disease:
1. Frequent urination
2. Intense thirst
3. Severe hunger
4. Weight loss
5. Fatigue
6. Delayed wound healing
7. Weakening of the body
8. Dry skin
9. Rapid breathing
10. Dizziness
11. Abdominal pain
12. Nausea
CAUSES OF DIABETES
There are many factors that can lead to diabetes, but fundamentally, this problem can be caused by one or more of the following:
1. Genetic inheritance
2. Environmental factors
3. Viruses within the rubella group can attack the cells of the pancreas and cause this type of diabetes.
4. Diet - some researchers believe that the immune response leading to the attack on pancreatic cells can be caused by a certain protein found in cow's milk, although the exact connection has not been proven.
5. Short duration of breastfeeding - if a baby is breastfed for a short period of time during infancy, there is a high chance of developing this type of diabetes in adulthood.
6. Chemicals and medications - some drugs can destroy pancreatic cells and lead to this disease, such as streptozotocin, which is an insecticide used in the treatment of pancreatic cancer. It also kills the cells that produce insulin, leading to insulin deficiency.
7. Other conditions that can contribute to this problem include tumors in the pancreas.
TREATMENT OF DIABETES
So far, there is no direct scientific evidence that confirms the existence of a cure for diabetes in patients who have had it for more than six months. However, there are many ways to manage this disease for those who have not had it for more than six months and potentially achieve complete recovery if they follow the guidelines.
However, it should be noted that the advice given in this book is not a substitute for hospital treatment or medical advice, so it is advisable to consult a doctor first before proceeding with the procedures outlined here. However, it is not wrong to follow these methods while continuing with your hospital treatment as they are natural and do not interfere with the normal functioning of the body. It is also recommended to seek the advice of your doctor before deciding to use these methods.
And even for those who have had it for a long time, there are ways to live with it and reduce its impact.
The following are methods to treat diabetes:
1. Avoid using sugar and instead learn to use natural carbohydrate foods and fruits as sources of sugar, especially apples, pears, tomatoes, ripe bananas, mangoes, and papayas in moderation.
2. Consume unpolished grains but in moderate amounts: Whole wheat bread, rice with bran.
3. Avoid: Ice cream, processed juices, soda, etc.
4. Consume protein in moderation.
5. Use healthy fats such as: Olive oil, almond oil, avocado oil, and avoid fats derived from milk and animals.
6. Avoid refined flour or foods prepared with refined flour.
7. Avoid processed foods such as bread, biscuits, drinks, crackers, dried fruits.
8. Consume lean meat and seafood.
9. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Have at least three regular meals a day and avoid overeating. Stop eating when you feel satisfied.
10. Engage in moderate exercises such as brisk walking for an hour every day.
11. Exercise and proper diet can potentially cure a diabetic patient who is still in the early stages of this disease.
