POSITION: Supply Chain and Procurement Officer
LOCATION: Dar es Salaam
REPORTS TO: Supply Chain and Procurement Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Procurement
- Assist with daily activities of the procurement department.
- Plan for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
- Monitor and enforce the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
- Review, compare, evaluate, and approve products and services.
- Manage inventories and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain and update supplier information.
- Maintain good supplier relations.
- Negotiate contracts.
- Research and evaluate prospective suppliers.
- Prepare budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
Logistics and Asset Management
- Take full responsibility for assets and inventory management of all expendable and non-expendable items under projects.
- Facilitate customs clearance of imported supplies, materials, equipment, and/or vehicles.
- Plan and execute warehouse-related resource planning and efficiency to meet anticipated company goals.
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, and transfer operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Maintain records for various stores, keeping records of items off-loaded and/or loaded at the warehouses. Keep updated records on stack/stock cards and/or computer inventory lists.
- Observe, enforce, and comply with safety requirements.
Fleet Management
- Prepare weekly/monthly progress and analysis reports on:
- Status and allocation of company vehicles, including hired vehicles.
- Fuel utilization report.
- Tires and batteries utilization.
- Ensure all legal requirements such as inspection certificates and insurance certificates for vehicles are acquired on time.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by your supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Supply Chain or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in similar positions, preferably in the Telecommunication Industry.
Other Skills/Training:
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and external contractors.
- Ability to promote integrity and business ethics, demonstrate mature judgment, trust, and open communication.
- Ability to ensure effective teamwork, collaborative behavior, and team spirit.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to persuade and influence others.
- Proficiency in speaking and writing in English.
