In partnership with the MasterCard Foundation, BRAC is implementing a multi-country initiative to create measurable impact for millions of adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) across Africa.
Role Purpose
The Finance Officer will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, administration, procurement, and compliance functions, ensuring accurate reporting and the effective use of resources. The role supports both internal and external audits and plays a key part in the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reporting.
- Review and validate field transactions and ensure compliance with donor and statutory requirements.
- Lead budgeting processes, monitor project expenditures, and support proposal development with financial inputs.
- Oversee procurement and administrative tasks, including logistics and travel coordination.
- Provide training and orientation on financial systems and cost-effective practices.
- Conduct branch visits for financial supervision and verification.
- Support audit processes (internal, external, and donor reviews).
- Ensure sufficient and timely documentation and accountability processes (including IOUs).
- Implement safeguarding standards and act as a point of guidance on creating a safe work environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- CPA or ACCA certification required.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in finance, administration, or procurement roles.
- Proven expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, and donor reporting.
- Experience in both nonprofit and business environments is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial compliance, market assessments, and report generation.
