About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer Intern to join our growing team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial management, budgeting, reporting, and donor compliance — while also contributing to meaningful programs that change lives.
Key Responsibilities
📊 Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and donor submissions.
- Support accurate maintenance of financial records and documentation.
📉 Budgeting & Forecasting
- Help in creating, reviewing, and tracking project budgets.
- Assist with financial projections and variance analysis.
💰 Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process invoices and maintain financial transaction records.
- Support in reconciling discrepancies and following up on payments.
📋 Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure documentation meets internal and external audit requirements.
- Support donor compliance and policy adherence.
🔄 General Financial Admin
- Assist with petty cash management, grant support, and fundraising finance coordination.
- Provide administrative and cross-functional support where needed.
🤝 Cross-Departmental Flexibility
- Be open to working with program and monitoring teams.
- Contribute to broader organizational initiatives and learn across departments.
Candidate Profile
✅ Education
- Final year student or recent graduate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
✅ Skills & Competencies
- Strong interest in finance and non-profit development work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with QuickBooks/Xero is an added advantage.
- Excellent organization, communication, and attention to detail.
- Bilingual in English and Swahili.
- Integrity, confidentiality, and adaptability are a must.
