4,105 students have been selected to join the fifth form this year in the second phase elections due to the first phase candidates not reporting to the designated schools.

This was stated by the Permanent Secretary, Office of the President, Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG), Prof. Riziki Shemdoe, while announcing the results of the second round of elections in front of journalists in Dodoma.

Prof. Shemdoe said that among the selected students, 499 students (424 boys and 75 girls) were assigned to Science and Mathematics specialties and 3,604 students including 3,461 boys and 143 girls were assigned to Arts and Business subjects.

He noted that the second phase of planning had taken place after the Ministry was satisfied with the vacancies in schools that students did not report.

"Given the number of girls scheduled to join Form Five the second phase has been small, this is because in the first phase elections all girls with qualifications were selected so there were no female students left," said Prof. Shemdoe

He clarified that the female students selected in the second phase are those who applied for the change of their choices from various colleges that were previously selected and sent to Form Five.

"Students scheduled for the second phase are required to report to the scheduled schools from August 16 to 30, 2021, so a student who fails to report until August 30, 2021 will have lost his position," he stressed. Shemdoe.

In addition, he asked parents and guardians to understand that there will be no chance for these students to be transferred to schools as the designated schools are the ones that have been identified to have a place for the specific candidates.
