🔸 About the Role
UNIDO is implementing the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP II) in Tanzania through Light Touch Activities aimed at promoting circular economy practices and sustainable industrial development.
As the National Project Coordinator, you will lead the local coordination and implementation of project activities, including stakeholder engagement, policy assessment, training facilitation, and reporting. You’ll be the key link between UNIDO and national partners, especially the President’s Office for Planning and Investment.
✅ Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project activities under GEIPP II in Tanzania.
- Facilitate stakeholder mapping, national awareness events, and policy review.
- Support assessment and training activities for industrial parks.
- Liaise closely with government counterparts and other stakeholders.
- Ensure timely reporting of project progress.
🎓 Requirements
Education:
- Master’s degree or higher in Environmental Sciences, Energy Management, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in environmental or industrial development projects.
- Practical knowledge of RECP, TEST, or Eco-Industrial Park (EIP) approaches is essential.
- Familiarity with industrial ecology and environmental management systems is desirable.
- Completion of UNIDO’s EIP online training is a plus.
Languages:
- Fluent in English and Swahili (written & spoken).
Other Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work across multicultural teams and present complex ideas clearly.
- Organized, proactive, and results-driven.
