🎯 Position Overview

Equity Bank is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Relationship Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs). This role is key in delivering customized consumer lending solutions, building strategic relationships, and supporting our clients in achieving their financial goals.


🛠 Key Responsibilities

🔹 Client Relationship Management

  • Build and manage relationships with HNI clients to deeply understand their financial needs.
  • Offer tailored lending products (e.g., personal loans, mortgages, asset-backed loans, overdrafts).
  • Conduct regular client engagements to review financial needs and promote relevant bank offerings.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on loan structuring and repayment strategies.

🔹 Loan Origination & Portfolio Development

  • Identify and acquire new HNI clients through referrals and strategic partnerships.
  • Structure bespoke lending facilities aligned with individual client profiles.
  • Drive the growth of the HNI lending book while ensuring top-tier portfolio quality.
  • Monitor loan performance, addressing any early warning signs of delinquency.

🔹 Credit Assessment & Risk Management

  • Collaborate with the credit risk team on loan assessment and approvals.
  • Ensure loan decisions meet regulatory and internal risk standards.
  • Analyze market trends and implement risk-mitigation strategies.

🔹 Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure full compliance with KYC, AML, and all regulatory frameworks.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all transactions.
  • Stay abreast of banking policies and regulatory updates.

🔹 Collaboration & Cross-Selling

  • Partner with internal teams including wealth management, legal, and operations for end-to-end loan facilitation.
  • Cross-sell banking products such as investments, insurance, and financial planning services.


📚 Required Qualifications & Competencies

🎓 Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
  • A Master’s degree and/or professional banking certification is an added advantage.

💼 Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the banking sector, preferably in relationship or private banking.

💡 Skills & Attributes

  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Sound knowledge of banking operations and lending procedures.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking software platforms.
