🧩 Purpose of the Role
The Relationship Officer – Ecosystem & Digital Lending will spearhead the bank’s strategy within distribution ecosystems, driving digital lending growth and enhancing customer acquisition. This role bridges retail, MSMEs, and corporates, positioning Equity Bank as the leading financial institution in ecosystem-based banking and innovative digital solutions.
🛠 Key Responsibilities
Ecosystem Banking & Digital Growth
- Identify and build strong relationships with distribution ecosystems and key anchors
- Mobilize liabilities and deposits via ecosystem partners and their value chains
- Onboard, train, and maintain ecosystem clients on digital lending and payment solutions
- Promote usage of digital banking products and ensure client engagement
Portfolio & Loan Management
- Drive growth in digital lending across retail, MSME, agency, and merchant channels
- Monitor loan repayments and manage arrears to maintain high portfolio quality
- Enforce timely recovery actions—demand notices, visits, and loan restructuring
Training & Compliance
- Provide in-branch training on digital platforms and self-onboarding processes
- Ensure 100% compliance with bank policies in onboarding and KYC verification
- Maintain proper custody and documentation of digital loan files
Reporting & Collaboration
- Deliver timely and accurate reports (daily, weekly, monthly) on portfolio performance
- Support cross-functional collaboration with the agency and branch teams
- Promote cross-selling of bank products and services
📚 Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field from a recognized university
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the banking sector, preferably in digital lending, ecosystem banking, or relationship management
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of digital banking, ecosystem models, and cross-selling
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Integrity, time management, and strong organizational abilities
- Proficiency in client training and portfolio management
